FAQ
Why seek help?
You may need an outside perspective to see things that you are too close to. You might also need a sounding board, someone to offer new ideas, a new set of skills, challenge your thinking, offer accountability or simply be a cheerleader along our journey.
Does seeking help mean that something is wrong with me?
It means that there is some area in your life that you would like to be more effective in and it means that you are brave, open and seeking guidance. It’s that simple.
Do you accept insurance?
No
Will you prepare a bill for my insurer so that I can request reimbursement?
Yes. This will require a formal mental health diagnosis. We can discuss the pros and cons of this if you would like. I will provide you with a paid in full invoice that you can submit to your insurance company. There is no guarantee services will be covered by your insurer and payment for services rendered is non refundable regardless of whether or not your insurance company reimburses you.
Are you able to accept FSA cards?
Yes; for counseling services only.
Do you offer a sliding fee scale?
Services are discounted when you purchase multiple sessions up front. See schedule services page (not sure what this page will be called) for details. If you are unable to purchase services up front to reduce the hourly rate, I have a limited number of reduced fee spots available at any given time. Eligibility will be determined on a case by case basis and documentation / verification of need will be required.
Do you offer a discovery session?
Yes. I offer a free 15 minute call or meeting over zoom to determine whether we would be a good fit for each other.
Is EMDR the same price as all other sessions?
No EMDR is a flat rate of $150 per session.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel with less than 24 hour notice prior to your scheduled appointment or do not show up to your scheduled appointment; you will be charged 1/2 of what your session fee would have been had you attended your appointment.
Do you offer services in any language other than English?
No
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes. The majority of services that I provide are on-line and facilitated over zoom.
If I engage in services, how should I try to get the most out of them?
Come with an open mind, engage in each session, be honest and vulnerable even though it’s hard. Have goals for your session. Share thoughts and insights that you have between sessions. Work on implementing what you are learning and give me honest feedback about how the sessions are going and what you need from each session.
